The Republican Party is the American people.

In the sense that they live in America, sure. it's a bit disingenuous to say they represent the will of this country when they see moving to a popular vote as a 'Power Grab', try and kneecap incoming state administrations after losing their own elections, and clutch onto unpopular social stances like it's going out of style.

But, again, idk how much any amount of debate matters to someone who can't actually form their own opinions on anything; so this commentary is more for anyone else who might be reading.

That is not what I'm saying. I'm saying they disproved the allegations of collusion which in turn serves as evidence that Trump did not obstruct justice without additional evidence that said he did obstruct justice which the report states they do not have.

How is "meh it could go either way" is different from "meh, it's a wash"? They literally said "there wasn't enough evidence to disprove obstruction nor to prove it", which is literally a wash.

The problem is that we haven't even see the report. Barr wrote his letter without consult of Mueller and still hasn't produced the report.

So all we have is one guy's opinion when that guy has a shitty track record and was previously involved in one of the biggest cover ups in American political history. We need more than Barr's word. Trump is also still eerily silent when he would/should be screaming from the rooftops right now if he was all clear.

Also you dont necessarily have to have committed a crime. Clinton wasnt impeached for getting a trouser friendly kiss

We still aren't going to know the truth until the full report is released. But yes, Trump and his allies are going to constantly scream that this completely clears him and others despite even Barr saying it doesn't exonerate Trump.

Though if even Trump's team and allies have been tepid on this, then there could be more there and they don't want to blow their load announcing victory just yet.
